Douglas Noel Adams (11 March 1952 – 11 May 2001) was an English author, screenwriter, essayist, humourist, satirist, musician, and dramatist. He created The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as well as writing Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, Last Chance to See, The Meaning of Liff, and more. He was also a script editor for Doctor Who during the Fourth Doctor's run.
