**Arthur Philip Dent** is the main protagonist of [[the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy]] franchise. He is an [[Human|ape-descended lifeform]] from the planet [[Earth]]. He narrowly avoided the [[Vogon|Vogon's]] demolition of the Earth by hitching a lift onto a Vogon Constructor Fleet ship with the aid of his good friend, [[Ford Prefect]].
